Model Lab was created from a genuine passion for supporting, educating, and empowering talent — because I know firsthand how confusing, intimidating, and under-supported this industry can feel.
I’m Shannon Lawson — a model, influencer, scout, and talent mentor with over 17 years of industry experience across fashion, commercial, e-commerce, and campaign work. I’ve built my career not only in front of the camera, but behind the scenes, working closely with agencies, brands, photographers, and creative teams. This gives me a unique, well-rounded perspective on what the industry actually looks for and how talent can best prepare for real-world opportunities.
Model Lab exists to support individuals who are aspiring to become models, while also bridging the gap for agency-represented talent to achieve real industry readiness. My approach is practical, honest, and supportive. I focus on building confidence, professionalism, and self-belief alongside technical skills such as posing, movement, runway, and on-set behaviour. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all training — every model is different, and every journey is unique.
Whether you’re brand new to the industry or looking to level up, my goal is to give you the tools, knowledge, and confidence to walk into castings, shoots, and opportunities feeling prepared, informed, and empowered.
